Who Should Attend

This workshop is aimed at senior level development professionals who are responsible for strategic planning for their organizations.

Workshop Purpose

Traditionally, branding was seen as a corporate necessity. However, not-for-profit organizations who successfully “Brand” themselves, their services and products, obtain greater stakeholder appreciation and loyalty. As nonprofit organizations do not have the marketing budgets of corporations, they need to engage popular media to get their message across at no or minimum cost. The purpose of this 2-day workshop is to highlight the ways in which this can be achieved by developing a brand identity of the nonprofit organisations and by building linkages with the media.

The workshop will discuss the essentials of development communications and its effectiveness in dealing with media. It will also discuss media outreach, integrating media outreach as part of your organisation’s branding exercise and its benefits. The training will enable the participants in establishing linkages with media and provide better understanding of media’s expectations. Practical skills like writing effective press releases, conducting press conferences and television appearance skills will also be imparted.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, the participants will be able to:

1. Understand the importance and benefits of communicating their organization brand to stakeholders.

2. Develop a clear market position that speaks of the core value of their organization.

3. Chalk out a Unique Selling Proposition for their organizations.

4. Integrate media outreach as part of the organization’s branding.

5. Learn tools to build effective and sustainable linkages with media, such as

· Writing press releases

· Appearances in Electronic Media

· Do’s and don’ts of media collaboration
